SmartVision works with IP cameras streaming over RTSP or HTTP and supports both professional and low-cost devices, including cameras with unstable firmware or network limitations. Cameras are automatically discovered on the local network via ONVIF, without manual configuration of addresses or stream paths. After camera or network restarts, connections are restored automatically. For DHCP-based cameras, IP addresses are updated by MAC address, preventing camera loss after reboots.
Each camera in SmartVision is treated as a full system object rather than a simple video stream. Camera configurations can be copied entirely, including streams, codecs, detectors, zones, rules, recording schedules, analytics settings, and cloud or local scenarios. This allows a reference configuration to be reused across many cameras, reducing errors and simplifying system scaling.
The operator interface is simple and consistent. The camera grid is the main working view, with video streams automatically scaled to tile size without cropping or visual jumps. Any camera can be opened in full screen with a double click. The interface does not rely on hidden modes or non-standard actions and behaves predictably in daily operation.
SmartVision records video to local disks, network storage, and NAS. Storage devices can be configured with space limits, recording priority, and automatic switching rules. Video is stored directly in open MP4 format using H.264 or H.265. The archive is not tied to a proprietary file system or player and can be accessed on any computer using standard media players. Recordings are structured by camera and date, with continuous video, events, and timelapses stored separately.
The system supports two recording modes. Universal mode transcodes video to H.264 for maximum compatibility. Native mode records the original stream, including H.265, with reduced CPU load and GPU acceleration. The built-in player supports native H.265 playback. The mode is selected based on performance or compatibility requirements.
SmartVision supports continuous recording and continuous timelapse recording with configurable frame rates. In timelapse mode, disk usage is minimized. When activity is detected, the system automatically switches to normal recording and returns to timelapse after the event. This approach is used for construction sites, industrial facilities, remote locations, and urban monitoring.
Event recording is based on intelligent motion detection optimized for real scene changes. The system ignores shadows, lighting variations, glare, and noise, reducing false events and keeping event archives practical and usable.
SmartVision performs object detection and classification, including people, vehicles, animals, birds, and other object types. License plate recognition is supported using regional neural models. The system automatically detects the country of the plate and selects the appropriate algorithm, including support for Eastern European formats. Recognition parameters are configurable to balance speed and accuracy.
Face-related functionality includes face detection, identification of selected persons, automatic creation of a face database, and searching for similar people across cameras without direct identification. Presence reports record entry and exit times and generate clear timelines used for attendance tracking and access control.
Optional modules include continuous audio recording with speech recognition in more than 100 languages, as well as visual smoke and fire detection based on scene behavior analysis. These modules are designed for stable operation and automatic recovery after restarts or network failures.
SmartVision supports PTZ camera control with stable pan, tilt, and zoom handling and reduced latency when working with presets.
The system is built on a multi-server architecture suitable for large and distributed deployments. It supports load distribution and centralized management across multiple servers.
Cloud integration is optional. SmartVision continues full local recording regardless of internet availability. Cloud access is used for remote viewing and event-based backup, not for continuous streaming. Only selected events are sent to the cloud, reducing bandwidth usage and keeping full control over video data.
SmartVision combines local AI analytics, flexible recording, and optional cloud access in a single platform designed for reliable, long-term video surveillance operation.
